Renting a scooter or bike in Varkala
LocoRides is Varkala's first government-authorized two-wheeler rental, run as a technology-first mobility startup: you choose, book, ride, extend and return, and most of that happens from your phone. Every ride is serviced before handover and comes with a sanitized helmet included in the price. Our shop sits near Govt. Taluk Hospital at Hospital Junction, about 1 km from Varkala Railway Station, and we are open every day from 6:00 am to 8:30 pm.
What a rental costs
Rentals start at ₹16 per hour, billed with a 12 hour minimum. Each vehicle listing above shows its own hourly rate, the kilometres included per day and the per-kilometre charge beyond that. Prices exclude fuel. A refundable security deposit applies and is shown on each vehicle page. There are no hidden charges at handover.
What you need to bring
A valid driving licence covering two-wheelers, plus a passport or government photo ID. Visitors from abroad should carry an International Driving Permit alongside their home licence. We verify your licence once, in the app, before your first ride.
Scooter or motorcycle?
Automatic scooters suit the cliff road, the beaches and short hops into town, and are the easiest choice if you have not ridden in India before. Geared motorcycles make more sense for longer coastal runs to Kappil, Anjengo or Ponnumthuruthu, where you will be on the highway for a stretch.
